THE MYSTERIOUS SOAP BIRD BANDIT

I have a mysterious bird who loves playing with soap it seems. Several weeks ago a friend gave me this bar of natural soap her friend had made. I placed it on a large rock out side next to my toothbrush and water (I am camping) to use when I wash my hands down there. Well the next day I looked and it was gone. I found it on the ground with marks all around it like from the bottom of a birds feet. I thought what on earth would the bird want with the soap. I place it back on that spot. The next morning hen i woke up it was gone.

A week later I decided to place another I had again homemade natural. The next morning it was missing from the rock. It seems like it was giving me a gift in exchange though as there were two feathers next to the rock.
After ten minutes i discovered he had not taken it away but was under the bushes and some branches further away all scratched up with tiny pieces left. I grabbed it and put it back on the rock. Sure enough this morning it as missing again. I found it again in the spot it had left it the last time.
I guess this bird likes to play with soap hahaha…
I named him the Kleftroni.

VIOLENCE & UNKIND ACTS

20/7/2017

Picture
We are all capable of violence and unkind acts in our not-self state. Every single one of us. But that is not what defines us. What defines us is who we truly are. That is our truth and a choice to be, have control over our life, or lose control and be that which we are not. By controlling who we are humanity will always be in a state of instability this way, riding the wave of everyone around us but ourselves, with the potential of danger. Unless we learn to listen not to the outside but that which is within us, every step along the way, being aware of what is correct only for us. We know we always do. If you choose the outside world to tell you, we will always be in a state of danger, frustration, anger, cruelty; those are the moments they occur. The moments of peace, satisfaction, gratefulness, success, and joy are those where we are choosing ourselves to guide us, we are being ourselves. We are constantly experiencing both as we drift in and out of being ourselves and not. This is the duality.

With the correct people for you your strengths become magnified, empowered flourish…expand into the greatest potential possible. In the same way with the incorrect people your greatest strengths become your weakness, that which you are judged for and made wrong for.

Owl & Man

Hank or Kukuvagia as I call him (owl in Greek) is my neighbor for the summer. He lives in a beautiful tipi he has made.  Hank has a special connection with owls. When I first met him he would speak to me of this and all the incredible experiences he has had with them throughout his lifetime.  An owl would come to him at very magical times to give him an important message. One day an owl even dropped an orange in front of him as a gift.

About a week after I met Hank, we were sitting with some others by the outdoor kitchen. A grey horn owl came and landed on the trees straight across from us, from a distance looking at us and coo cooing. Shortly after it left. Hank went back to his tipi and the rest to their place, and I remained  to cook up some dinner. When it was time to head back I began walking and this bat began to fly around me. I love bats so it was a delight. As I was getting closer to my tent I was hearing an owl coo cooing. Immediately I thought “that is coming from down where me and Hank are!” As I got closer I witnessed a most beautiful sight!

The owl and Hank were communicating, talking to each other. The owl would coocoo and then so would Hank and they would go back and forth. Not wanting to disturb I made my way very slowly and silently. When I reached the pond I decided not to walk up to my tent so I don’t interfere. It was a magical twenty minutes. I was gazing at the reflection of the trees in the water  and various bats flying around , listening to the occasional frog croak, and in the background  hearing this beautiful interaction. It was like a fairy tale. I had a big smile on his face.

When I proceeded back again I was being cautious. I wanted to go over to them but I refrained  unless I was properly invited. As I was getting back in the tent Hank came over and whispered to me to come over. I watched him in full excitement with what was happening. The owl was fully fascinated and curious. If we moved away it would follow us to a closer tree. At some points Hank used this incredibly beautiful flute to answer the owl back.  This went on for about an hour and a half. At one point the owl flew directly above us looking down and coo cooing. Finally we decided we should sleep.

The owl came back the next day. Not only that, but I watched as he would follow Hank wherever he went on the ten acre property. Since then the owl makes a point to show up a couple of times during the evening to visit Hank.  If he is not there the owl moves on.

Kukuvagia named him Leni after his grandfather.
Leni has changed Hank’s life as he says. He feels he has a very close ally and friend. Whenever he is feeling a bit down or unsettled Leni appears getting him right back on tract. Leni has affected how he feels in his day to day life and how he handles his life’s situations. “I feel like I am becoming more owl,” Kukuvagia said.

Love's Fool

6/7/2017

Picture
When you try to control me…that’s when you loose me,

You have my love and devotion…
Control is not necessary.
My love or your love cannot be measured, solidified, and locked in a box…
It is open, expressive, and free.
It keeps growing and growing expanding way out into the universe.
If you try to put it in a box remember it will remain in there…
Solid, unmoving, unnatural, no longer what it was,
None of us can be, or move free,
We are locked…caged within each other,
We begin to hate each other,
Blame each other…
Blame the love,
Chocking our expression…
Our collaboration…
Frustration building…
Emotions…
You see…we are not free.
The love becomes something hurtful, painful, negative…
Something blah…
Stop controlling it…
Or even stop trying to create it…it is the same.
It is there or it isn’t…
In either case you have your freedom,
The freedom of being you,
Of being or not being,
Aaahhhh…the fools we are to believe we can control love or life,
Ha! Judging it as it should be this or that,
Trying to be it or not be it…
It does not work I tell you…
Love yourself silly being,
It does not matter what anyone else does,
There is no loosing in love,
There can never be…
It is a gift always…
ALWAYS…
Stop trying to create it or control it…give up this insanity…
Loosing me and you…
If you just let it be you gain me and you…
You gain life…
It’s not all love and it’s not all hate.
We can both be free to be and swim in a pool of endless love for each other that grows and grows…
Reaching beyond anything that can ever be reached…
You already have my love and devotion,
Or….
You can try and place our love in a small box placing it in your pocket to keep it safe,
Trapping in our fears along with it…
So our love will never go away…
Denying its wings….
What will it be?

My name is Gaia (Γαία) and I was born on the beautiful lush island of Kos, along the Aegean sea of Greece, where Hippocrates, the "father of medicine" was born. I am a writer (favorite being children's stories and fairy tales), artist, dancer, modern day Greek Mythologist, nature dweller, photographer, traveler, dreamer, and creator.  I love creativity...I love all nature, especially trees.

One of my greatest joys is connecting people with nature in which I have spent most of my life in solitude contemplating and enjoying its wisdom, and empowering people to be their authentic selves, reconnecting them to their true essence and calling in life.

At the moment I am following my passion writing my fairy tale books.
