Meet Entharinsi…a yellow butterfly I spent time with today. I have seen Entharinsi hanging out in the sand many times before but never spend time with him/her. I sat quite a while next to Entharinsi having absolutely no problem being right in its face taking photos. Then there was Παρηγοριά who today had a mate with it (no photo) Then there were these two ducks that came swimming up to me which they have never done before and later came up to the door following me around…and of course Mitso the heron who is always there on the dock…and the bald eagles…nature always comes to the rescue…..

http://www.rebellesociety.com/2016/05/28/gaiagiakalli-nature/ The clearest step towards awareness is understanding there are no answers…. Only more questions..& acknowledging that this is ok. Why do we seek answers? Why do we need to have control? Why not let go and enjoy, experience the freedom of knowing that we don’t have to know? What we ‘know’ is constantly changing….life is constantly changing because of this.
There is no single answer. The answer changes moment by moment. There is no ultimate truth. It switches, morphs…continues. In a way it is an illusion. Morph how you choose in this moment in time, share the experience, don’t share the experience. A choice is never definite….you can change and choose something else at any point. Yesterday you made a certain choice, today you can choose something else as long as you don’t get stuck in yesterday’s choice. Then you solidify it, you stop the movement, it becomes stagnant, blocked, unnatural, nothing moves, nothing changes. Memories, feelings, will remain instead of popping in and out allowing for acceptance. Solidifying them turns them into something “wrong,” something negative instead of something natural & correct for YOU at that moment…a gift. Life is movement observing, experiencing, taking in, and viewing it for what it is. If we personalize it, use our minds to create scenarios, interpretations which cannot allow us to move on..we get stuck, we get lost in a tornado. What if a tornado comes along? Go wild! Follow it! Blast your way through, move with it do not run away…hide. Go into it express its blazing winds, be the tornado which shortly after will return to a pure breeze, nothingness….calmness. Would you rather become the tornado or the home that gets swept up by it? What feels more natural? When you come across a large wave do you become fearful of it when you see it, judge it, view it as something “bad,” stop and get thrown over? Or do you see it and go “yay! How fun can this be?” Jump on a surfing board and ride the wave having a grand old time? If you stop …everything around you keeps moving whether you move or not. Do not confuse movement with running around like a crazy person planning for the future doing what needs to be done. It is quite the opposite. Movement can mean stillness sitting by the ocean in solitude observing the waves..that is also movement maybe the largest movement that exists. It’s being there, present, not in the past, future, which no longer exists. That is your reality now. The greatest relief is the awareness that we have choice at every moment in the day ...we are bound by nothing! We have merely created this illusion…so forget what you think you “know,” “have to do”..what you choose for tomorrow , next year, and the next 10 years and choose right NOW for this moment. At this moment I am choosing to sit by the lake, my feet gently touching the water, the sun shining on my face, and watching this adorable crazy looking tiny insect choosing to crawl on my arm not knowing where it is going exactly or why, but feels right for it at this moment in time. What do you choose? Does nature not naturally move in harmony...in balance on its own? Constantly moving? Is it not when we try to intervene and block the natural flow that the balance is set off track? The more we try to control, and view it as wrong, something that needs to be fixed we add more imbalance throwing off nature’s natural cycle...our internal natural cycle.
Does nature stop and say “shit I should have done this yesterday or I must do this in order to have this?” Or is it morphing in every moment, changing, choosing what is correct for it in that moment in time? Does an eagle decide “I can only find food at that specific location, at that time of the day, otherwise I am lost?” No. It follows its instincts at that moment in time. It fly’s and attacks at the right moment. Does an orangutan tell the tree when it needs to bare fruit so it may feast on them? Or does it move, adapt, and allow the tree to bloom when it chooses as it picks another tree that is bearing fruit at that moment? It does not create limitations. The orangutan is free to be and so is the tree. If it does not work the orangutan moves on to another tree. If it sat there with the tree arguing with it “no you must bare fruit now!” it blocks the natural cycle of the tree. Creating possibly an imbalance to the plants that live by it, and the insects that dwell on the tree and plants, causing all to go off their natural cycle. The planet has its natural cycles that changes and adapts over time if they stopped, & judged it, chaos begins for the tree, the orangutan, and everyone around. The more each returns to their natural cycle the more balanced and restored everyone is. Things begin to fall into place. The bear does not know what the cherry tree’s natural cycle is. Only the cherry tree knows. Everyone is different. You can try and make conclusions, set of rules, theories, and remedies. All it will do is lead to frustration. “Why does it not work for me? “ Because you have your own rhythm, your own cycle, which you and only YOU can uncover. You already know it. Your body knows, you just have to remember how to listen. And that is the right cycle for you, no one else’s. That is the beauty...the individual quarks and differences that make the whole. Only we know how and where our center is. May we all find our own center…our natural rhythm. I am a wild animal,
I dwell in nature. Rules & regulations? Nahah… This does not exist in my world. I was raised in nature, Unrestrained, In my domain, Anything other…. Is completely fooling yourself. A wolf does not belong in a cage… In a building… Sipping coffee… Having a drink in a bar… No…. A wolf is free… Natural… To run & sleep where it chooses, Roaming as it pleases, Enjoying the shadow of the trees… A drink from the lakes… The smells of nature. I am not here to be told what to do… How to act… What to wear… What to say… What’s proper & improper… Where to park or bark… How to….breeaatthhheee….. You can fear me… Blame me... Hunt me… Try and tame me…. But one thing is for sure, No matter what, I will be… Free rein…. I made a new friend today...a beautiful red dragonfly. I was sitting by the lake pondering & it appeared landing on the deck in the same spot every so often leaving and then returning to its spot. After about 20 minutes I decided to go fetch my camera. As I returned I began to slowly slowly maneuver myself closer & closer trying to get a nearer pic. After about 5 minutes it just left its spot, flew next to me and sat right there as if saying “here let me make it easier for you.” I laughed. Here I was making it such a task sneaking & all along it didn’t care. I then put the camera down & enjoyed its company for the rest of the time I remained on the deck pondering and writing. I actually walked and sat further away and it came flying and landed next to me again, occasionally flying over the lake. Dragonflies are one of my favorites and come to me a lot. I named it παρηγοριά (comfort).
I heard a comment on a video I was watching today and there were some comments that lacked a little awareness on nature dwellers somewhat criticizing it and so it inspired me to write this.
I love nature, I always have. It’s my home. To me there is no difference between a tree, a rock, an insect, an animal, a human, or myself. However we have created this reality of separation where there are certain norms. We do certain things, there a specific rules we follow for entertainment and pretty much everything. We go to parties, dinners, there are certain rituals, chronological orders to things that we don’t dare to step out of. There are pre-fixed ideas and notions on what is right, wrong, fun, social and everything outside of it we tend to judge it. We all do it. Being around other people and being “social” which seems to include only humans is considered healthy . Is being social not being in nature? I mean we are surrounded by so many living beings? How is that not being social? So being social apparently only means to be around many people and you have to speak verbally out loud lots! Even if you have nothing of interest of value to say. But yes that’s what we have labeled as such we must not step out of it or the sky will fall upon us! This is what most people like or practice because they are taught to. This is not EVERYONE. The non-veryones ( I think I am going to use this word, I like it!) are deemed weird, antisocial. Ring dring ring - JUDGEMENT!!! You can look at it from a point of view of extroverts vs. introverts even though I don’t like to give people labels. One is deemed appropriate and the other something is wrong because we have labeled it so. I am going to focus here on nature lovers, as I am one myself. Here is some parts of something I had written at an earlier date: I LOVE spending time with myself. I could never get "bored" or shall we say have a lack of attention span. I crack myself up, I have fun, I laugh, play, I get to choose whatever I want, whenever I want, I create anything, do anything how great is that? Especially in nature it is a never ending fascination. There is so much to do, see, observe, be! On rare occasions I could get "bored" around people and it is not that the people are boring by all means. It is that the energy between us at that point in time is not correct and there is nothing wrong with that. It is just not where I am suppose to be. In fact the only time I could get bored is when I am doing something I do not really feel I would like to do. How many times in your life do you spend time with people out of guilt, because it is expected, it is customary or proper, something you are suppose to do otherwise you will be considered rude or judged? It can be wonderful you know just to spent time with yourself. I understand those who like to be around other people all the time. Good for you. I choose and just love to be "alone" most of the time. Alone is not the correct word as we are never "alone." I have spent most of my life in solitude and never felt alone. Actually the times I have felt "alone" is when I was in big crowds of people. How could you be "alone" in nature??? There you have the biggest crowd imaginable and amount of life! There are trees, plants, flowers, rocks, insects, the earth. It is crawling with life!!! How can that be considered alone? We humans sure are a weird lot!! Spending time with humans can be as equally as satisfying and beautiful however there is no difference it is all part of the same thing, and so is being with yourself, and I so enjoy it!” I remembered always since a child being criticized by others for spending so much time in nature or having fun and enjoying time alone. However what they did not realize is that I was not alone. As I mentioned above being in nature which is crawling with life is not alone. Its quite the opposite. Do you ever stop to think who made up this rule that we have to be around humans at all times? How many times do you hear that being in nature is escaping reality? What reality??? There is no such thing! What makes going to a café seating and drinking a coffee life ‘the’ reality? And gong on a hike not? Its all part of the same thing. How many of you wish to spend time in solitude or more time in nature but don’t out of fear of being judged or because its not what people do? How much does your body long to do so but your not allowing it out of judgment? Some people like apples others papayas, others watermelon. Is the apple reality and the papaya not? I have always respected those that love to be around other people I do too, not all the time though. Everything is life though . And for those of you who get criticized its perfectly ok, beyond ok, it is the same thing only one is attachéd with judgment and the other not. What if we get rid of these ridiculous ideas about what is right or wrong or social to do and not to do and just BE? Instead of judging other peoples choices why not accept them as ok “not my choice, but cool!” When it comes to nature if we open our minds are we not aware that it is purely a notion we have created of separation? We try to cling to what is the same or shall we say what we perceive as the same because we are all different. Do you see all insects and animal species gathering in groups for group activities all the time? No. some animals are herd animals some are not. Do you see the deer going over to the cougar and saying “nope nope nope you are suppose to be in a group” Uuummm no! Is one animal living a ‘incorrect’ life and the other not? So please let’s get rid of these stupid judgments and be aware that these are purely a social construct we have create to live by. Be who you are. Get rid of these ideas of what you should or shouldn’t be doing . I hear so many people say they would love to go out in nature more or that I just went there (to an event) because I had to. well what if you didn’t have to? What if you can choose to do what YOU would like to do? I don’t say well you have to go out in nature that is what is fun, relaxing, just because it is for me. Go do what YOU find relaxing. Lets get rid of this superiority complex that humans are better and nature is beneath us. That we are more intelligent , knowledgeable, aware. Come on now who are we kidding? who is the unhappy and unbalanced one? The trees? Is nature not the one functioning to its full capacity, ability and joy? But yet we know better? What if nature just is and is not trying to prove anything. What if that is the only thing that separates us? How are we more valuable than a tree, the ocean? If all of nature had that idea or stand we wouldn’t exist nature would be warring among each other like us humans do. Do you see the squirrel attacking the raccoon and saying they are better or correct? So please let’s get rid of this stupid myth that nature is not life…reality when indeed all it is… is LIFE. |
